By texting or messaging our service number via SMS or WhatsApp (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Description of Service
TextLedger allows users to send photos of receipts via SMS or WhatsApp. We use automated image-recognition to extract vendor, date, and amount information, assign an expense category, and make the data available as a summary, optionally delivered to an accountant you designate.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for users 18 years of age or older, located in the United States.
3. No Professional Advice
TextLedger is a recordkeeping tool, not a source of tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Categorizations are automated suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing all logged data and consulting a licensed professional before filing taxes or making financial decisions.
4. Accuracy of Extracted Data
Automated extraction may occasionally produce errors. Please review your monthly summaries. We are not liable for consequences resulting from inaccurate extraction or categorization.
5. Digital Record Retention
TextLedger's storage practices are designed with reference to IRS guidance on electronic recordkeeping (IRS Revenue Procedure 97-22). TextLedger does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. You are responsible for ensuring captured receipt images are clear and legible, and for retaining records for the period required by your specific tax situation, before discarding original documents.
Records related to the purchase of vehicles, equipment, or other business property must generally be retained for as long as you own the asset, plus several years after disposal, regardless of format. Consult a tax professional regarding your specific retention obligations.
6. Your Responsibilities
- Only send legitimate receipts you have the right to submit
- Avoid sending sensitive information you don't need to (full card numbers, SSNs)
- Provide accurate contact information
- Use the Service for lawful purposes only
7. Fees
Current pricing and any free trial terms will be communicated directly to users. Prices are subject to change with reasonable advance notice.
8. Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on usage. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply. Text STOP to opt out at any time, START to resume.
9. Data and Privacy
Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by texting STOP or requesting account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apex Enterprise Solutions LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated to active users before taking effect.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
